Sport rehab is a specialist healthcare approach focused on helping people recover from injury, manage pain and return to the activities that matter to them — whether that’s sport, work or everyday life…
As a BASRaT Registered Sport Rehabilitator, I work with people of all ages and activity levels, from athletes to those living with long‑term or complex conditions. My goal is to empower you to move more, feel stronger and help you build a strong, resilient body for the future. As a BASRaT registered practitioner my fitness to practise is independently quality assured by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). The PSA is accountable to parliament and is the regulatory body for healthcare in the UK.
During your first assessment we will discuss your symptoms, lifestyle and goals before a functional, physical assessment. From this information I will help you to understand the cause of your pain and work with you to build a practical plan for your recovery. Depending on your needs in the assessment we will create a personalised rehabilitation plan adapted to your goals and needs, which may include a combination of evidence-based:
· Exercise prescription (supported or self-managed plans)
· Graded return to activity or sport
· Manual therapy & soft tissue treatment
· Biomechanical assessment & movement retraining
· Taping or bracing
· Lifestyle or workplace advice
Plans are constantly monitored and adapted for your needs as you progress, gently encouraging you through your recovery process.
Sport Rehabilitators specialise in treating musculoskeletal injuries affecting muscles, bones, joints, tendons and ligaments. I specifically understand how important sports like climbing and running are to mental health, and how frustrating the burden of injuries (as below) can be when completely stopping is not an option.
Lower Limb
· Knee injuries
· Ankle sprains
· Achilles tendinopathy
· Hip and groin pain
· ACL/cruciate ligament rehabilitation
Upper Limb
· Shoulder pain
· Climbing related finger injuries
· Medial / lateral elbow tendiopathy
· Carpal tunnel syndrome
Other Injuries & Conditions
· Post-operative rehabilitation
· Repetitive strain injuries
· Bursitis
· Chronic pain
· Injuries with uncertain diagnosis
· Post-traumatic and fracture rehabilitation
· Pregnancy & Menopause
I have worked with children and young people as a climbing coach and running performance coach and am confident in assessing their injuries, with a mind to their long-term health and competitive performance. I am particularly interested in working with young people managing coordination conditions such as dyspraxia. If you have any questions please get in touch, or appointments can be made via the standard booking page. (Enhanced DBS Clearance & Insured to work with this demographic)
Movement and exercise can be beneficial to people living with chronic conditions, and I am passionate about helping my patients to introduce it into their lives in a realistic and practical manner, particular areas of interest include:
· Obesity
· Arthritis
· Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis affects millions of women in the UK, and 1 in 3 will experience an osteoporotic fracture in their lifetime. Evidence from national clinical guidelines shows that resistance training is one of the most effective ways to improve bone strength, reduce fracture risk and maintain independence.
· Neuromuscular conditions
· Strength, balance and falls prevention
· Chronic fatigue, ME / MFS and Long Covid
Please get in touch to discuss any adaptations that you may need in order to make an appointment accessible, this can be in the form of home visits in the North London area or appointments online if appropriate.
