Evidence‑informed soft tissue therapy to support recovery, movement and performance
Sport & Remedial Massage is a form of soft tissue therapy focused on the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of muscles, tendons and ligaments. While commonly associated with sport, it can be beneficial for anyone experiencing physical discomfort, training load issues, or movement‑related tension.
I hold a Level 5 qualification with the Sport Massage Association (SMA) and work within an evidence‑informed, client‑centred framework. My approach has been shaped through ongoing mentoring with osteopaths at The Climbers Clinic, with a strong emphasis on assessment, clinical reasoning and informed decision‑making.
All appointments begin with a consultation, allowing treatment to be adapted to your goals, symptoms and current capacity.

What to expect from a session
Each appointment starts with a brief discussion of:
- Your symptoms or areas of concern
- Training load, work demands and recent changes
- What you want from the session (relief, preparation, recovery)
Treatment is then tailored accordingly and may include a variety of hands‑on techniques applied with appropriate pressure and intent. Sessions are collaborative — you are encouraged to give feedback throughout.
Where helpful, I may also suggest simple strategies to support recovery between sessions, such as movement, load management or self‑care advice.

What can Sport & Remedial Massage help with?
Soft tissue therapy may help to:
- Reduce sensations of muscular tightness or discomfort
- Support short‑term improvements in circulation
- Promote relaxation or alertness, depending on treatment style
- Improve ease of movement and perceived flexibility
- Support comfort around areas affected by scar tissue
- Contribute to physical and mental preparation around activity
Massage can be used as a stand‑alone treatment or alongside rehabilitation, training or other healthcare.

Who is this suitable for?
Sport & Remedial Massage may be appropriate for:
- Climbers, runners and active individuals
- People managing training fatigue or load‑related aches
- Those returning to activity after time off
- Desk‑based workers experiencing muscular tension
- Anyone wanting to support movement and recovery
You do not need to be injured — and you do not need to be an athlete.
If massage is not appropriate for you on the day, I will explain why and discuss alternative options or onward referral where needed.

A professional, ethical approach
As an SMA‑qualified Soft Tissue Therapist, I am trained to assess each client individually, apply appropriate techniques, and recognise when treatment may not be suitable. My work is informed by current best practice and delivered within clear professional boundaries.
The aim is not to “fix” your body, but to support it — helping you stay active, recover well, and move with greater confidence.

All Sport & Remedial Massage sessions are 60 minutes and include consultation and tailored treatment.
